The Mommy And Me Initiative offers the following workshops for Mothers, Babies, and Fathers:

Moms:

  • Prenatal Wellness Workshops: Prepare expectant mothers for childbirth and motherhood by focusing on prenatal nutrition, exercise, relaxation techniques, and birth planning.
  • Postnatal Care Seminars: Support new moms in navigating the challenges of early motherhood, covering topics such as breastfeeding support, postpartum fitness, and emotional well-being.
  • Breastfeeding Support Clinics: Offer personalized guidance and support from lactation consultants to address breastfeeding challenges, ensure proper latch and positioning, and troubleshoot concerns.
  • Self-Care and Stress Management Sessions: Empower mothers to prioritize self-care, manage stress, and maintain emotional well-being amidst the demands of motherhood.
  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating Classes: Educate mothers on the importance of nutrition for themselves and their babies, including breastfeeding support, introducing solids, and preparing nutritious meals. 
  • Emotional Well-being and Mental Health Workshops: Provide resources and strategies to support maternal mental health, including coping with postpartum depression and anxiety.
  • Body Image and Self-Esteem Workshops: Foster positive body image and self-esteem in mothers, addressing common body image concerns during and after pregnancy.

Fathers:

  • Dad and Baby Bonding Sessions: Facilitate opportunities for fathers to bond with their babies through interactive play, baby massage, and storytelling activities.
  • Parenting Skills and Fatherhood Workshops: Equip fathers with essential parenting skills and knowledge to confidently navigate fatherhood and support their partner.
  • Infant CPR and First Aid Training: Teach fathers life-saving skills and knowledge to respond to emergencies such as choking, CPR, and basic first aid for infants.
  • Newborn Care Basics Classes: Provide fathers with practical skills and information on diapering, bathing, soothing techniques, and recognizing signs of illness in newborns.
  • Positive Discipline and Parenting Strategies Seminars: Explore effective discipline techniques and positive parenting strategies to foster healthy parent-child relationships.

Babies:

  • Baby Massage and Bonding Classes: Teach parents gentle massage techniques to soothe and bond with their babies, promoting relaxation, sleep, and digestion.
  • Baby Sign Language Workshops: Introduce parents to baby sign language as a communication tool for pre-verbal infants, enhancing parent-child communication and bonding.
  • Sensory Play and Developmental Activities: Engage babies in sensory-rich play experiences that stimulate their senses, enhance cognitive development, and encourage exploration.
  • Music and Movement Sessions: Explore music and movement activities that stimulate baby’s auditory and motor skills, fostering creativity, coordination, and social interaction.
  • Introduction to Solid Foods Workshops: Educate parents on the introduction of solid foods to babies, including when and how to start, safe feeding practices, and nutritious food choices.
  • Sleep Training and Safe Sleep Practices: Provide guidance on establishing healthy sleep habits for babies and implementing safe sleep practices to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
  • Developmental Milestones and Growth Tracking: Help parents understand and track their baby’s developmental milestones, offering insights into their growth and progress during the first year of life.
  •  Babywearing and Infant Car Seat Safety Workshops: Educate parents on safe babywearing practices and proper use of infant car seats to ensure their baby’s safety and comfort while on the go. 
  • Baby-led Weaning Introductions: Introduce parents to the concept of baby-led weaning, empowering them to allow their baby to self-feed and explore solid foods at their own pace. 
  • Sensory Story Time Sessions: Combine storytelling with sensory experiences to engage babies’ senses and promote language development, cognitive skills, and a love for reading from an early age.

Families will also be able to attend additional workshops:

  • Emotional Support: Providing one-on-one and group support sessions to address emotional well-being and mental health concerns for parents and caregivers.
  • Doula Services: Offering trained doula support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth to provide physical, emotional, and informational support. These services are designed to meet the diverse needs of families and promote the health, well-being, and resilience of parents and children alike.
  • Community Outreach: Engaging with the community through events, workshops, and outreach programs to raise awareness and promote maternal and child health.
  • Referral Services: Connecting families with additional resources and support services, including healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations.
