What Our Mission
The Mommy And Me Initiative is dedicated to addressing the root causes of infant mortality, maternal mortality, and morbidity through comprehensive, equitable, and culturally competent support. With infant mortality rates in Ohio significantly higher than the national average, particularly among Black infants, our mission is to empower, educate, and equip underserved women and families with the resources, education, and community support they need to ensure healthy pregnancies, safe deliveries, and thriving infants. According to the Ohio Department of Health, Black infants are more than twice as likely to die in their first year of life compared to white infants. By bridging gaps in healthcare access, addressing social determinants of health (SDOH), and providing a robust network of services, we are committed to improving birth outcomes, reducing infant mortality, and supporting maternal and child health in underserved communities. Our work is aimed at reducing health disparities, ensuring equitable care, and ultimately improving the well-being of mothers and babies in our community.

What Our Vision
Our vision is to create a world where every mother and child has access to high-quality, culturally sensitive care that supports their health and well-being. We envision a community where all women, regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, or background, are empowered to have healthy pregnancies, safe births, and successful postpartum journeys. By eliminating the systemic barriers that contribute to maternal and infant mortality, we will foster an environment where every family has the resources and support they need to thrive.
